June 15, 2006AOL is trying to duplicate the success of digg with the new beta version of Netscape. Naturally, this is the top story (click to view):
Inevitable but I still laughed.
Confidential note
June 14, 2006To the person that found this site via a Google search for “can i be fired for badmouthing the boss”: yes, yes you can. Better start using office equipment to make copies of your resume while you still can.
Ratatouille
June 9, 2006
The trailer is up for Pixar’s next movie, Ratatouille. Great choice of Patton Oswalt for the main rat. I am already tired of typing Ratatouille, though.
Valleyslut
June 3, 2006I did it all for the goatse stickers.

Thanks to SixApart, GoatseStickers, Rubyred Labs, Slide, FeedBurner, and everyone else. Especially ValleySchwag, for making this all possible.
Conventional times
June 1, 2006It seems like Portland is becoming the place for interesting (and not drama-filled, yet) tech conventions. We’ve got WebVisions July 20-21 and OSCON July 24-28 that I know of. The former features a lot of big names in the blogospherorama, including the white males behind WordPress, Metafilter, Upcoming.org, and so much more. OSCON features the creators of Python, PHP, and Perl, who will triangle off in a caged deathmatch where only one scripting language will survive.
I’ve never been to any tech conference but would like to someday, hopefully either before student discount eligibility runs out or on my employer’s dime. With events like these happening in my backyard it would be a shame not to.
