Moving back

Back in Corvallis now, having successfully completed my internship. It was a satisfying experience since I had completed projects that will actually get used. I wish I had been able to get to know more people since I was trying to Get Stuff Done™ most of the time and didn’t do much watercoolering. The whole thing kind of had the opposite arc of my previous internship. In that one my lunches became more of an event towards the end whereas with this one I did more stuff at the beginning and gradually people left to go back to school until it was just me doing work work work.

I really don’t know of my chances of getting a fulltime position. You may have read about what’s happening in the news. There will still be hiring done next year (to not continue hiring fresh blood would be dumb) but I don’t know how much they need a web guy. At least my manager poked around to see what can be done to get me a position, but time still has to tell and is keeping her cards close to the vest.

Also, MacBook Pro, hey! So far so good. Parallels is neat.
