And then there are people who are only partially motivated by race. They are pretty sure they’re not racists but just don’t want that man to talk to their children he just doesn’t seem very American. Most of them would probably still be out protesting if Joe Biden were President—though they might see him as a little bit more “American” and a little bit less threatening. They might be concerned—but they wouldn’t be terrified. They might be upset, but they wouldn’t be irate. And they never liked the government that much—but suddenly their country doesn’t look like it used to. And they’re pretty sure that Obama is somehow their enemy—even if it’s unclear whether that makes him a communist, a terrorist, or a Nazi.

A topic I’ve been thinking about lately as well and trying to figure out how to get beyond it.

There’s also his legendary appearance on Late Night With Conan O’Brien wherein Conan labels him the “biggest ass he’s ever met” and Courtney Thorne-Smith discusses her role in cinema classic “Chairman of the Board” alongside Carrot Top.

Mostly recently I’ve enjoyed his segment in the Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget. Most participants in recent roasts bring out the same “edgy” jokes that tend to tread the same old ground but he actually managed to do something unique and confuse the hell out of most of the audience in the process.

Microsoft is looking to make jQuery part of their official development platform. Their JavaScript offering today includes the ASP.NET Ajax Framework and they’re looking to expand it with the use of jQuery. This means that jQuery will be distributed with Visual Studio (which will include jQuery intellisense, snippets, examples, and documentation).

jQuery and ASP.NET already get along pretty well but support in Visual Studio is welcome news.

Last September, Ben Huh and a team of investors purchased “I Can Has Cheezburger,” a site that aggregated the “LOLcats.” Mr. Huh hopes to turn the 4chan-generated tradition into a meme empire with several other related sites in the works. The site now has more than 2.5 million unique visitors a month, according to Mr. Huh, and a book based on the site is coming this fall for Gotham Books.

“Meme empire” makes me die a little on the inside.
